Counselling may be able to help you...

What is Counselling?

Counselling is for any one who has something they want to talk through with someone. In many ways, we can engage in forms of counselling in our everyday lives - in our day to day conversations we can often be helping folk, and often without even knowing it. Sometimes though, we find ourselves in a place where we are looking for more than what we can get from those we know.

Hamilton Therapy Centre is a group of counsellors who can help with a wide range of issues. Basically counselling is a process to help you discover your own strengths and help you come to your own decisions. The majority of the counsellors at Hamilton Therapy Centre use a narrative approach, and enjoy working with you and the issues that you bring.

The issues people come to counselling for are vast and varied. At Hamilton Therapy Centre we get a lot of referrals from the Family Court, ACC - both medical and sensitive claims, General Practitioners, CY&F, EAP Service Providers, other agencies and many private clients as well. Within all of that there is custody and access, working as separated parents, marriage counselling, counselling for people with head injuries, victim support, anger management, drug and alcohol counselling, eating issues, career choices, relationship building... and much much more. Each person has their own story to tell, their own experiences, and hopefully, will each find their own way clear of the issues that bind to a new sense of self and a freedom to move forward.

How Much Does it Cost?

The cost varies depending on which counsellor you see, and whether funding is available. Please discuss with Claire or Lyn.

Other Services Offered

Supervision and training is also available on application. Employment Assistance Programmes (EAP) can be arranged.
